Camp Pendleton 1943

In 1943 when the 24th Regiment was formed the famous "Red Book" was issued. It was what we in the Navy call a "Cruise Book". This book contains a short history, various pictures some of the Regiment, and most importantly portraits of each man in the Regiment by Battalion and Company.  Here presented are the Men of the 2nd Battalion.

The pages below were marked by the original owner of this book with a "w" or a "k" for each man who became a casualty. The 80% casualty rate shows the high price the 24th Regiment paid in WWII. The men below are Company I of the 3rd Battalion.
